Monday's - Starters and Improvers This night is aimed at those that are running around the 9 - 10 min mile pace, the distance we cover will be around 3.5 - 4 miles, the sessions are varied from a loop of Tewkesbury around the bypass, to gentle hill work at Mitton. We can change the route or type of run on the night depending on what people want to do. It is your night, however we will provide some structure to the night including hints and tips to improve your running. Meet at Morrisson's Car Park (Tewkesbury) to start running at 19:00.
------------------------------------ Wednesday's - Main Club Run Tewkesbury AC main night for running, we meet up at 18:45 at Tewkesbury Rugby Club (round the back of the Abbey). All are welcome to come along; we have a complete range of abilities, from 1:15 Half Marathon runners to 10 min mile + pace runners, there will always be someone to run with and chat to. The general rule is to come along 2-3 times, if you enjoy it then you can join the club for a small fee (£15 per year), but if you find it is not for you then that is fine also. On this night we have two groups, the 19:00 group generally consists of the starters and slower runners or those who want to take it easy on the night. The 19:15 group generally consists of the faster runners who want to push themselves a little harder on the night. The idea of having these two groups is too ensure there is not too big a gap between the first and the last runner, and that we all arrive back at the club house at about the same time (we live in hope). It is important that we never leave anyone behind; so if you are leading your group (whether it is the 19:00 or 19:15) you should run back to ensure all members of that group are accounted for.
------------------------------------ Friday's - Speed & Technique We also have a Friday Speed & Technique session which starts at 18:30, this is held at Tewkesbury School throughout the summer until it gets to dark, at which point we move over to the Prince of Wales Track in Cheltenham (floodlit). This Friday session is good for learning how to run correctly and includes a gentle warm up, some leg exercises followed by interval running and a stretch to finish. These Friday sessions are ideal if you are not sure about joining a running club, and you want to get a feel for your own pace / speed. You run at your own ability and there is no pressure to compete with anyone (unless you want too!!). And as we are on a School Field / Track, you cannot get left behind either.
------------------------------------ Physiotherapy If your in need of rehabilitation many of the Tewkesbury runners use 'Back Into Action' click the link for details. ------------------------------------ Pace Calculator Put two of the three values in the boxes, and press the button to see the third. Press 'Calculate Splits' to get a list of split times. (drop down menu's change units/distances etc.)
